A hard-fought 2-0 (1-0) victory over RCD Espanyol on Sunday evening delayed Barcelona’s premature title celebrations. Vinícius Júnior’s 55th and 66th-minute goals secured the win for Real Madrid, though the La Liga race remains far from a nail-biter. 

All eyes now turn to next Sunday’s Clásico (21:00, DAZN), where Barcelona hosts Real Madrid. A draw would be enough for Hansi Flick’s side to clinch their 29th league title, while Real can only delay the celebrations at the Camp Nou with a win. 

Despite the setback, Barcelona’s 11-point lead with four matches left keeps them firmly in control. The victory ensures Real Madrid at least second place, extending their gap over Villarreal to nine points.
