A year ago, Pedro Acosta made his breakthrough in Hungary, finishing second behind Marc Márquez to claim his best result of the season up to that point. For Interwetten expert Tom Lüthi, this is reason for optimism. The 2025 result is “naturally a promising sign for this year, as he can build on those successes there”, said the Swiss.
Alongside the KTM factory rider, Lüthi of course has Aprilia on his radar. “They were also strong last year in Hungary, and you have to reckon with them throughout the entire season”, said the former MotoGP rider. In particular, the factory team with championship leader Marco Bezzecchi (Italy) and his closest pursuer Jorge Martín (Spain). “Both are very strong, and the Aprilia seems to work really well on all circuits, whether fast or tight like Hungary.”
The Balaton Park is “a very tight track”, with “no long straights, very slow corners, and a very, very large amount of the lap is ridden in first gear in the MotoGP class”, said Lüthi. For him, that means “the bike’s set-up is crucial—it needs to be agile, manageable, while less attention is paid to stability in fast corners.
