Pedro Acosta missed the podium at the German Grand Prix but returned to the points after two DNFs. The KTM factory rider, who had retired from his last two outings in Brno and Assen, took a strong fourth at the Sachsenring. It marks his best-ever MotoGP finish at the traditional circuit near Hohenstein-Ernstthal.
Fans were treated to a record-breaking weekend: Marc Márquez claimed his tenth MotoGP victory at the Sachsenring, matching Giacomo Agostini’s benchmark as the only rider to win ten times at a single premier class circuit—Agostini at Imatra, Finland. Márquez, beaten just once at the track across all classes (in 2024), dominated the 30-lap race from start to finish.
His main challenger early on was his brother Àlex, but the younger Márquez crashed on lap ten and was forced out. Ai Ogura and Raúl Fernández (both Aprilia) rounded out the podium but never threatened the race leader.
On Saturday, Márquez had taken pole with a lap record (1:19.041) and secured his 19th sprint victory—more than any other rider. In the championship standings, the double victory moves him to third with 190 points, behind Jorge Martín (Aprilia/208) and Ogura (194). Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia/186), who broke his left collarbone in Saturday qualifying, missed the race and underwent surgery.
A total of 261,813 spectators attended the race weekend—a fifth consecutive attendance record. In 2027, the Sachsenring will celebrate its 100th anniversary—and the record looks set to fall once more.
