Vojvodina – Ferencváros TC 0-3 (0-2). At the Karađorđe Stadium in Novi Sad, Hungarian club Ferencváros TC claimed a convincing victory on 9 July 2026 in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League 2026/27 first qualifying round. Three goals without reply — the scoreline tells its own story. The winner of this two-legged tie will face Dutch side Twente in the next round.
Early blow and half-time heartbreak
Ferencváros needed just eight minutes to set the tone. Kristoffer Zachariassen, the Norwegian midfielder who has been at the Budapest club since July 2021 and has since won multiple Hungarian league titles as well as the Magyar Kupa, finished after a lay-off from Lisztes to make it 0-1. Vojvodina found no answer to the visitors' relentless pressure in the opening stages. Both sides lined up in a 4-3-3, but the Hungarians looked more compact and purposeful in their build-up play.
Just as Vojvodina began to find their footing, another blow arrived — this time self-inflicted. In the 45th minute, Toon Raemaekers, the Belgian defender who had only joined Ferencváros in June 2025, turned the ball into his own net. The own goal made it 0-2 and brought the curtain down on a desperately disappointing first half for the hosts.
Controlled finish and full-time score
After the break, Ferencváros head coach Balázs Borbély — in the job since 1 June 2026 — made a series of substitutions and allowed his side to manage the game comfortably. Vojvodina boss Miroslav Tanjga responded with several changes from the 63rd minute onwards, but the pattern of play remained largely unchanged. In the 59th minute, Vojvodina's Petrovic picked up a yellow card, while on the visitors' side Bamidele Isa Yusuf and Joseph were both cautioned in the 66th and 71st minutes respectively.
The final word went to Bamidele Isa Yusuf, known as Dele, in the 86th minute. The Nigerian striker, who joined Ferencváros in August 2025 and had already made his mark in the 2025/26 Europa League with a goal against Panathinaikos, converted from Keita's assist to seal a 0-3 scoreline. Minutes later, Borbély withdrew four players simultaneously, keeping fresh legs in reserve ahead of the second leg.
Position heading into the second leg
Ferencváros arrived in Novi Sad on the back of five consecutive wins and backed that form up emphatically. The 3-0 first-leg advantage leaves Vojvodina facing a near-impossible task. For the Hungarians, the situation could hardly be more comfortable: after this evening, progression to the next round and a meeting with Twente looks like a mere formality.
