The Boston Bruins defeated the San Jose Sharks 6–4 at TD Garden. After a closely fought first two periods, the Bruins erupted for four goals in the third to seal the win. The victory extended Boston's point streak to eight games and clinched the season series against San Jose.
An even opening at TD Garden
Boston entered the contest as one of the league's top sides and Atlantic Division leaders, while San Jose were wrapping up a lengthy six-game road trip on the back of two straight wins and a potent offence. Despite their underdog status, the Sharks arrived with genuine confidence.
Casey Mittelstadt opened the scoring for the Bruins with a wrist shot, assisted by Elias Lindholm and James Hagens. San Jose answered shortly after when Michael Misa found the back of the net on a backhand, with Adam Gaudette and Tyler Toffoli picking up the assists. The first period ended 1–1.
Sharks stay in it through the middle frame
The second period was equally hard-fought. Marat Khusnutdinov restored Boston's lead off a feed from Morgan Geekie and Fraser Minten, but the Bruins could not protect the lead. Kiefer Sherwood equalized for San Jose to level things up once more.
The middle frame also ended 1–1, with both teams netting twice and neither side able to take control. Jeremy Swayman tended goal for the Bruins, turning aside 21 shots across the night.
Boston takes over in the third period
The game swung decisively in the home team's favour in the third. Dmitry Orlov gave San Jose the lead, assisted by Ivar Stenberg and Mason Marchment, but Boston responded with immediate pressure and turned the game around within minutes.
David Pastrnak equalized after a assist from JJ Peterka. It was the 427th goal of Pastrnak's career with Boston, drawing him level with Patrice Bergeron in third place on the franchise's all-time scoring list. Shortly after, James Hagens forced the puck over the line, with Elias Lindholm picking up the assist.
Fraser Minten made it 4–3 for Boston before San Jose pulled one back through Will Smith, who converted after a pass from Jacob Trouba and Macklin Celebrini. The Bruins refused to be rattled. Will Borgen then scored into the empty net to put the result beyond doubt.
Bruins see out the home win
The third period went 4–2 in Boston's favour, deciding the contest. The final score read Boston Bruins 6, San Jose Sharks 4. San Jose showed offensive quality for long stretches but could not answer Boston's dominant closing spell, as the Bruins capitalized on their chances when it mattered most.
The win also completed a sweep of the regular-season series against the Sharks, following Boston's 6–3 road victory on October 13, 2026. For San Jose, it ended a two-game winning streak, while Boston continued to strengthen their position in the standings.
