After an outstanding campaign last season and another prolific start to the new one, several Premier League clubs are reportedly monitoring the former Rapid Vienna forward.
Manchester United, Tottenham and Everton tracking Beljo
The latest speculation stems from a report published on 13 October by TEAMtalk journalist Graeme Bailey. According to Bailey, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are all showing considerable interest in the 24-year-old Croatian. The three clubs have reportedly been closely monitoring his development and could consider making a move during the January transfer window. However, there have been no reports of concrete negotiations or formal offers so far.
For United, Beljo could provide another attacking option alongside Benjamin Šeško and Matheus Cunha, particularly with Joshua Zirkzee’s future remaining uncertain. Tottenham are also believed to be exploring further options at centre-forward.
Everton’s need is especially apparent. Following Beto’s departure, manager David Moyes has just one established centre-forward at his disposal in Thierno Barry. Leading international football outlet GOAL has also picked up TEAMtalk’s report.
From Leeds and Newcastle to two powerful ownership groups
Bailey’s report also identifies Brentford as another Premier League club monitoring Beljo. In addition, City Football Group and Chelsea’s ownership group BlueCo are said to have expressed interest.
That does not necessarily mean Manchester City or Chelsea themselves are actively planning a transfer. Both ownership groups have interests in multiple clubs.
Newcastle United and Leeds United had previously been linked with the 1.95-metre-tall left-footed striker, and TEAMtalk has now revisited those earlier reports.
An interview Beljo once gave to Sky Sport adds an interesting dimension to the speculation. In it, he spoke about his affection for Manchester United, Newcastle and Leeds. His fondness for Newcastle was partly inspired by the football film Goal!, while he also described the Premier League as a particularly attractive destination.
Outstanding numbers and a first international goal
Given Beljo’s performances, the growing list of interested clubs is hardly surprising. During the 2025/26 season, he scored 38 goals in 48 appearances for Dinamo across all competitions, while providing another six assists. His 31 league goals alone played a decisive role in securing the Croatian championship.
The former Rapid striker has carried that momentum into the new campaign. He already has ten goals and three assists from seven league appearances, adding another two goals and three assists in six Champions League qualifying matches. Beljo was also on target in Dinamo’s recent 2-1 defeat to Hajduk Split.
His impressive form earned him a recall to the Croatian national team after he missed the 2026 World Cup.
Beljo started Croatia’s 4-1 defeat to Spain on 29 September and scored the temporary equaliser in the 28th minute. It was his first goal for the senior national side. He also featured in the return fixture against Spain.
Earlier transfer rumours and a €20 million offer
Interest from abroad is nothing new. As early as May, several international media outlets reported links with Benfica, Porto, Ajax and Feyenoord, as well as French clubs Lille, Rennes and Marseille. Real Sociedad had also been mentioned as a potential destination during Beljo’s time at Rapid.
The speculation became more concrete in September. Croatian outlet tportal reported, citing Beljo’s agent Srđan Lakić and Dinamo president Zvonimir Boban, that an offer worth approximately €20 million had arrived from a club in one of Europe’s five major leagues.
The identity of the interested club was not disclosed, and Dinamo ultimately decided against selling their leading scorer.
Beljo’s agent had previously told Sportklub that his client was in no hurry to take the next step in his career. The plan was to establish himself at Dinamo before eventually moving to an ambitious club at a higher level.
Dinamo hold the cards over Beljo’s future
Beljo impressed during his loan spell at Rapid in 2024/25, scoring 19 goals in competitive matches after a difficult period at FC Augsburg. In the summer of 2025, he completed a permanent move to Dinamo Zagreb and signed a contract running until 2030.
The Croatian champions are therefore under no immediate pressure to sell. Nevertheless, a substantial offer from England could prove extremely attractive financially, especially with Beljo now ranking among the most productive forwards in his age group.
Whether the situation develops into something more concrete as early as January remains to be seen. For now, the latest reports underline one thing: Beljo’s goalscoring exploits have firmly put him back on the radar of some of Europe’s wealthiest football markets.
