The GT Cup Series brings together several different vehicle categories on the 5.403-kilometre Masaryk Circuit. High-performance sports prototypes share the track with GT3, GT4 and Cup cars, meaning there are numerous class victories to fight for alongside the overall win. Fink and Sven Barth are among the regular frontrunners in the Sports Car Challenge, while prominent names such as Christian Klien and Mathias Lauda have also competed this season.
No Klien or Lauda, but other Austrians in the field
Klien and Lauda were absent in Brno, but there was still Austrian representation on the grid. Oliver Michael competed for Team Michael in a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup, while Bob Bau represented Motorsportzentrum Ried in another Porsche 911 Cup car.
Michael eventually finished 15th overall and third in the D4-GTC class, with Bau directly behind him in fourth place in the same category.
At the front, however, Fink was once again the man to beat. He had already controlled Saturday’s opening sprint from the front, and on Sunday the four-time champion again looked untouchable in his Nova Proto NP01.
Adam Konopka makes a stunning start
Fink held the lead at the start, but behind him Adam Konopka produced the most spectacular opening lap. The Slovak made an excellent getaway in his Lamborghini Huracán and surged from seventh on the grid all the way up to second place.
He was unable to match Fink’s pace for long, though. Sven Barth worked his way back past Konopka in the Ginetta G61 and reclaimed second position, while Fink controlled the gap at the front.
As on Saturday, the German’s outright speed was particularly impressive. His fastest lap of 1:52.934 was even quicker than the best time from his first-race victory. Barth’s personal best of 1:55.084 was not enough to challenge that pace.
Collision ends Miro Konopka’s race
The biggest interruption came after a collision between Jeremy Siffert and Miro Konopka. The incident was especially costly for Konopka, who had been leading the D5 class at the time. The Ligier driver was taken out of contention and could not continue.
Race control then deployed the Safety Car, wiping out the advantage Fink had already built. After several minutes, the field was released again for the closing phase of the race.
Anyone hoping for a late attack on the leader was disappointed. Nothing changed at the front during the roughly five minutes of racing that remained. Fink controlled the restart and eventually crossed the line 5.407 seconds ahead of Barth.
Fink extends his winning streak
Fink therefore also secured another Open-class victory, while Barth took the Pro category with second place overall. Adam Konopka held on to third despite losing second position and won the D4-GTX class.
Rudolf Beňo claimed D4-GT3 victory in his BMW M4 GT3. Following Miro Konopka’s retirement, the D5 win went to Alex Tlustý in the Praga R1T. Broněk Formánek prevailed in D4-GTC, Dobroslav Karnik won D4-GT4 and Ranieri Randacio topped the Classic category.
Fink’s recent dominance therefore continues without interruption. He had already won both races at the Red Bull Ring, and now followed that up with another perfect weekend in Brno, taking two lights-to-flag victories. That makes four consecutive wins for the German.
The second sprint also brings the weekend’s motorsport programme to a close. The 2026 Masaryk Racing Days conclude in Brno this Sunday.
